I just played the game and I have some thoughts about it. I really feel for Ellie and want to give her a hug and tell her everything will be okay. At the same time, I’m a bit frustrated with her because I wish she could just move on from Jack, even though I know that’s not easy.
Ellie mentions that Jack seemed different this time, acting distant and cold. This makes me think she might be starting to let go of him. Instead of dreaming about the sweet, affectionate version of Jack, she’s beginning to lose her feelings for him, which could be causing her to see him as more distant and cold. Maybe that’s just my interpretation, but it’s the impression I got.
I really enjoyed this short story because it touches on a part of breakups that isn’t often discussed. Most movies show characters going to big parties and finding someone new to obsess over, but I appreciate that this story presents a more realistic view of breakups, where sometimes people just need time to heal, or they struggle to move on at all.
Thanks so much for the kind comment! It's so interesting for me to hear how people experience my games, so I really appreciate you going into detail about your interpretation... which is incidentally pretty closely aligned with how I intended to the game to be interpreted, ha.
I've been having dreams and nightmares about my ex and this is really comforting. Thank you for making this. Art, music, and voice acting are all gorgeous.
Such gorgeous art! Upon reaching the point where the twist was revealed, I assumed it was far more tragic than just a breakup (that Jack was gone-gone if you get my drift), which made Ellie's grief even deeper. The background ambience was so nice in making it feel like I was both there and in a dream, like a slice of a real place out of place. And the voice acting too, I think really captured the nature of the dialogue & this Jack's distance with Ellie :)
This was so touching, and I absolutely loved the art, the colours you chose complemented the dreamscape beautifully and the music really pulled everything together. Beautiful game!
The voice acting was honestly super good. It was comforting but at the same time, you could feel a distance in his voice. One from caring but also not knowing how to do it except the awkwardness doesn't just show up in voice, as if he has tried hard to make sure it doesn't come off that way (or is just like that because he's a memory).
I love the texture of the art too. Something about there being no eyes but just a mouth, just a silhouette of a man you once loved. I look forward to more projects!
Edit: I also wanted to commend you for choosing all the right things for this, it felt really nice.
Also wanted to add that I couldn't access that poem so that's a shame. [It wouldn't load, which was uploaded in just 1 site]

Thanks again! 💕
This was great! I loved the art style and the minimal color palette you used - the drawings look like sketches in blue ink on a notepad.
Thank you!!

Thanks so much for the kind words and detailed comment — I appreciate it a lot! And I'm glad you enjoyed playing through :)
Re: the poem, that's so unfortunate — I own a copy of Cape Verdean Blues, which is where I pulled this from. I hope you get to read it at some point!
Gorgeous game! the voice acting is also very well-done, it adds a lot to it
Thanks so much! And agreed on voice acting; Brennen did a great job :)
I love the art style! It's so pretty. The texture is really impressive. It looks like you could hold it like a book in your hands.
Thanks so much for the kind words! :)
Wow! This came out excellently, really beautiful little narrative! Amazing work!
